file under "food, lack of"

After returning home from a very fun Memorial Day weekend with friends and family, I cleaned my room, did some laundry, and then half-heartedly walked over to my fridge, where I thought I could find some comfort...

In hopes to perhaps rejuvenate and/or cleanse myself from a weekend that was full of booze and junk food, I opened the door to my bare refrigerator, only to be forced into concocting ways to mix peanut butter and jelly with pickles.

Because those were nearly the only groceries I had, I toasted myself an english muffin.

I ate the muffin with peanut butter and jelly on top, then ate a pickle on the side. All over the kitchen sink.

Christian rock

The other day, while I was baking my skin in a tanning bed, I had the radio station mistakenly tuned to 102.5 Christian Contemporary Radio. Of course, I hadn't realized that the radio was set on this station until AFTER I layed my pasty white body in the coffin of UV lights. Therefore, I was not going to waste the hard earned money that I use to pay for cancer on changing the station from that of God-fearing Christians praising all His glory to the music that I really listen to while tanning: hard core gansta rap, mother f***er.

I was also compelled to stay in the bed and not move, because I have a phobia of moving around too much while tanning, for fear that my body weight will shatter the thick plastic covering the row of lamps and I will be electrocuted.

So I layed there and listened.

It was actually uplifting in a way. I got to hear all about God's gift and therefore, how I will surely go to Hell.

And after my fifteen minutes in the lights, and as I got dressed, a commercial came on. It was a commercial so heartfelt and Christian that I almost called my Grandma to ask her how to become a nun.

"Take it easy on the roads this afternoon. And when that person behind you honks his horn and passes you on the highway, remember to pray for him. Because even those we don't like need prayers."

spinster

My roommate Sara was just on the phone with her friend from high school, and they were talking about two of their classmates getting married this summer, and the conversation went something like this:

Sara: "Becky, would you mind not getting married for a while so that we can always be one another's dates for ocassions like this?"

Becky most likely laughing on the other end.

Sara: "No, I'm serious...we're going to be the old spinsters at all these weddings, no boyfriends, no kids. We should just get a common law marriage. They still recognize that, don't they?"

Becky most likely disagreeing with Sara but not saying anything.

Sara: "Becky, I'm not joking. I'm thinking about adopting within the next year so that I have something to write off on my taxes."

update

Thanks to everyone who came to my photo show, and especially to those who attended the reception last night. We had a great turn-out, and I appreciate everyone's positive feedback regarding our trip to Kentucky.

Now time to study for what I hope will be my last final exam as a college undergrad (EVER).

Massage (and possibly shock therapy) scheduled for next week.
